Google AdSense

Connect AdSense for estimated earnings, impressions, clicks, RPM and page-level revenue.

What AdSense gives you#

Once connected, metricsKit pulls revenue data from the AdSense Management API into the monetization reports:

  • Estimated earnings, impressions, clicks and page views
  • Derived metrics: RPM (revenue per mille), CTR, eCPM
  • Breakdowns by page and by owned site domain
Note: AdSense data lags 24-48h; numbers in the AdSense console likewise stabilise the next day.

Prerequisites#

  1. An AdSense account under your Google account (one AdSense account can span multiple domains).
  2. The site already serves ads (either ads.txt or the ad code) so it gets counted.
  3. Check the AdSense service during authorization.
Note: AdSense uses read-only access (adsense.readonly).

How to connect#

  1. Console → Data sources, start Google authorization with AdSense checked.
  2. Exactly one account is selected automatically; with multiple accounts you must pick one manually (never guessed).
  3. Data starts flowing within about 5-30 minutes.

Troubleshooting#

  • "No AdSense account found": the Google account has no AdSense account, or it is not approved yet.
  • "Multiple accounts": pick the account to use for this site.
  • Upstream errors: the upstream reason is shown as-is at the top of the report; GA4/GSC panels render normally.
Tip: AdSense accounts are account-level and span all domains — adding a domain does not require reconnecting (data is filtered per bound site).
